Du kannst die Stadtmauern sowie die beeindruckende Architektur der mittelalterlichen Stadt genie\u00dfen, w\u00e4hrend du an den charmanten Fachwerkh\u00e4usern der &#8222;neuen&#8220; Stadt von Provins vorbeigehst. Auf der linken Seite siehst du die \u00c9glise Catholique Coll\u00e9giale St Quiriace. Fr\u00fcher gab es hier das Schloss des Grafen von Champagne, aber das Schloss wurde Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts abgebaut.<\/p>\n<h3>Mittelalterliche Tunnel (Les Souterrains de Provins)<\/h3>\n<p>Ich habe es nicht zu den mittelalterlichen Tunneln unter der Stadt geschafft, da man seinen Besuch sehr genau nach dem Tourplan f\u00fcr die Tunnel unter Provins timen muss. Jahrhundert gegr\u00fcndet, aber das heutige Geb\u00e4ude stammt aus dem Jahr 1176 und wurde von einem der Adligen der Region finanziert. Der Bau wurde im Laufe der Jahre fortgesetzt, ist aber technisch gesehen nicht abgeschlossen. Die Kirche wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg leicht besch\u00e4digt, was zum Bau der Kuppel in den 1950er Jahren f\u00fchrte. Das Innere ist recht schlicht, abgesehen von einigen Buntglasfenstern. Es wird erw\u00e4hnt, dass Jeanne d&#8217;Arc hier die Messe besucht hat (sie wurde sp\u00e4ter in Rouen verbrannt). Dieser eigenartig geformte Turm ist angeblich der einzige achteckige Turm mit quadratischer Basis auf der Welt. Der aktuelle Turm stammt aus der R\u00f6merzeit (1150) und wurde zu Ehren von C\u00e4sar benannt (er hat Provins nie besucht). Der Turm war ein Symbol der Macht f\u00fcr die Region und man kann immer noch die Treppen hinaufsteigen, um einen Blick \u00fcber Provins zu werfen (kostet 7,50 Euro, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere). Die meisten urspr\u00fcnglichen Mauern um die Stadt sind verschwunden, aber 22 T\u00fcrme stehen noch, obwohl es im 13. Jahrhundert \u00fcber 5.000 T\u00fcrme gab. Die Mauern sind trotz ihres Alters gut erhalten und der Blick \u00fcber den Rest von Provins macht sie zu einem einzigartigen Ort. Die Fachwerkh\u00e4user machen das Schlendern durch die verschiedenen Seitenstra\u00dfen zu einem Vergn\u00fcgen. Ich w\u00fcnschte, der Himmel w\u00e4re weniger grau gewesen, als ich in Provins war, aber ich stelle mir vor, dass es im Sommer noch beeindruckender ist. Es war fast niemand da, weshalb ich wirklich empfehle, dass jeder, der von den Menschenmassen in Paris genug hat, den Tagesausflug von Paris nach Provins macht.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4578 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wanderlustingk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/24068591_1740134559343690_5600994822720181847_o.jpg\" alt=\"Fachwerkh\u00e4user in Provins, Frankreich. Sie ist voller mittelalterlicher Literatur und Geschichtsb\u00fccher. Mach unbedingt einen Abstecher hierher, um in eine andere Welt einzutauchen. Du wirst auch an einigen gem\u00fctlichen franz\u00f6sischen Caf\u00e9s vorbeikommen, einschlie\u00dflich dem <strong>Le Cafe de Paris<\/strong>, in das ich f\u00fcr einen kurzen Kaffee eingekehrt bin.<\/p>\n<p>Besonders hervorzuheben ist die wundersch\u00f6ne <strong>Librairie Delvaux<\/strong> Buchhandlung im Stadtzentrum, in einem Fachwerkgeb\u00e4ude. Ich liebe Bier und oft ist das Bier, das man in Frankreich findet, <em>gut,<\/em> aber nicht experimentell. Dieser lokale Bierladen bietet viele lokale Biere aus der Region, die man anderswo nicht findet, indem er mit lokalen Brauern zusammenarbeitet. Ich fand den Ladenbesitzer sehr angenehm zum Plaudern und habe zwei k\u00f6stliche experimentelle Biere mit nach Hause genommen. Der Turm ist der letzte verbliebene Teil der Kollegiatkirche Notre-Dame-du-Val, die w\u00e4hrend der Franz\u00f6sischen Revolution zerst\u00f6rt wurde. Es ist einfach sch\u00f6n, ihn von unten zu bewundern.<\/p>\n<h3>Rosen in Provins<\/h3>\n<p>Ich besuchte Provins im Winter und habe daher den <strong>Rosengarten von Provins<\/strong> dieses Mal ausgelassen. Seit der R\u00f6merzeit waren die wilden Rosen aus Provins als &#8222;rosa gallica&#8220; bekannt. Als die Menschen jedoch ihre medizinischen Eigenschaften entdeckten, wurden die Rosen zur &#8222;rosa gallica officinalis&#8220; kultiviert. Historisch gesehen wurden Besuchern von Provins getrocknete Rosenbl\u00e4tter angeboten. Als Ergebnis findest du in ganz Provins verschiedene Rosenprodukte, einschlie\u00dflich Kosmetikprodukten, kandierten Rosenbl\u00e4ttern, roseninfundierten Getr\u00e4nken, Schokolade und Honig sowie Kerzen. Ich probierte ein roseninfundiertes Bier, das \u00fcberraschend gut war.<\/p>\n<h3>Wo man in Provins essen kann<\/h3>\n<p>Auf Empfehlung einer Freundin machten wir einen Zwischenstopp in der<strong> Creperie La Fleur de Sel<\/strong> mitten in der mittelalterlichen Stadt Provins. Ich hatte eine k\u00f6stliche Crepe und probierte ein Bier mit Roseninfusion. Die Fahrt sollte etwa 12-15 Euro f\u00fcr eine Strecke kosten und du kannst ein Hin- und R\u00fcckfahrticket kaufen. Der Bahnhof (Gare de Provins) ist nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Stadtzentrum entfernt, obwohl es einen steilen Aufstieg zur mittelalterlichen Stadt gibt.
