As a born-and-raised Melbournian, I will tell anybody that listens that this is truly the best city! Melbourne has been voted the ‘most liveable city in the world’ by the Economist for 6 consecutive years now. However, Australia is not a budget-friendly country for travelers. With a decent cup of coffee costing between $3-$5, it can be easy to see where all of our money goes (You must have at least ONE world-famous Melbourne coffee!) This post is the attempt of a local Melbournian helping you navigate my hometown on $20 AUD or less a day. Includes tips for what to eat in Melbourne under $15 AUD and what to do in Melbourne for free. FREE downloadable Google Map that you can use offline at the bottom!

Traveling Europe can be expensive, but eating in Amsterdam doesn't need to be--if you know where to go. As an Amsterdam resident who loves travel and food, I'm constantly searching for cheap, delicious, and local food that is less than 10 euros, including a drink. Cheap doesn't need to be crappy or unhealthy, so here's the best restaurants to eat at in Amsterdam (including Centre and the Jordaan). Keep reading for my off the beaten path budget guide for foodies or just a list of the best cheap restaurants in Amsterdam!
Most people think of luxury when they think of Rhine Valley, however it’s possible to visit this beautiful region without breaking the bank. I absolutely love castles and vineyards, however I don’t have the money for a Viking River Cruise (I wish!). This is a guide to visiting the beautiful UNESCO Heritage site of the Upper Rhine Valley without sacrificing thousands of euros for a river cruise.
The biggest key to getting low prices is to avoid high season: Late May, June, & July. This is when the cruisers are in town and prices will JUMP. I promise it’s just as lovely in the other months and you’ll love exploring uncrowded castles and picturesque little towns.
This is simple: castles, wine, charming towns, and nature. Your trip has gone horribly wrong if you don’t end up seeing at minimum 2 castles while in Rhein Valley. For wine lovers, the famous German Riesling from close-by Mosel & Rhine Valley is cheap and easily available. The beauty of the region surprised me, and there's plenty to do outdoors. Lastly, find out how to save money while staying in a castle.
After seeing photos upon photos of beautiful fields of tulips here in the Netherlands, I knew I had to go for myself. I'm traveling a lot soon and honestly, I didn't have the money to pay for entrance into Keukenhof, so I did it my way: the cheapest way possible. I don't leave much up to chance in my life admittedly, so here's five steps to guaranteeing that you will see the flowers in the natural fields or free!
I’m born and raised in NYC. This post is for anyone who wants to experience the best of New York on a tight budget ($10 or less) through the eyes of a native New Yorker. Although some things on here are meant to be crowd-pleasers, I’ve tried to bring you to corners of New York where you’ll start see the quieter, charming parts of New York that are off the beaten path. I’ll be covering getting to and around New York, where to stay on a budget, and CHEAP Sights. Read more to read about my favorite 20 places for visiting the Big Apple like a local (by borough).
